Boiler tubes is a one of seamless pipe. Manufacturing methods is the same as seamless tube, but it has the stringent requirements for manufacture of steel pipes.

API 5L X42 pipe is also known as L290 pipe (per ISO 3183), named after the minimum yield strength of 42100 Psi or 290 MPa.

This specification covers straight seam and spiral butt seam welded unannealed austenitic stainless steel tubular products intended for low and moderate temperatures and corrosive service where treatment is not necessary for corrosion resistance.

The JIS G3458 standard is formulated for heat-resistant alloy steel pipes used as high-temperature fluid conveying pipes for heaters and boiler tubes.
