Heat treatment is essential to improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of pipes. For heat-finished pipe, the heat treatment should be performed at 1200°F (650°C) or higher to ensure the pipe's high-temperature strength and stability. For cold finished tubes, heat treatment shall be carried out after final cold finishing or the tubes shall be supplied in fully annealed, isothermal annealed or normalized and tempered conditions. If supplied in normalized and tempered conditions, the minimum tempering temperature shall be 1200°F (650°C).
